| Cold River Academy is a California private school specializing in meeting the needs of homeschoolers in California and other states and countries as needed and applicable. At Cold River Academy, your freedom to educate your children your way is valued above all else. We welcome homeschooling families of all faiths and systems of belief, of any race, income, and family composition. Support is offered for all homeschooling methods and styles, from "school at home" to "unschooling" and everything in between. Families can enroll at any time of year, enjoy the freedom to control their own school schedule with minimal guidelines, and have total control over the selection of curriculum, materials, and course content. While testing is available as needed or requested, all of our students are exempt from California standardized testing requirements, including the S.T.A.R. Test and the California High School Exit Exam. Participation in school-sponsored events is always optional, and enrollment in a homeschool legal defense program is not required. There are no intrusive home visits, and no required parent-teacher conferences or parent education meetings to attend. All required aspects of our program can be completed by mail or online for your convenience. Referrals to support groups and other resources in your area are available at any time. Cold River Academy's low cost homeschooling program offers you the freedom to start homeschooling whenever you are ready, use the method and style that is right for each child, and schedule your schooling to meet your family's needs, while providing comprehensive record-keeping services, contact with school and government officials as needed (including transfer of student records, providing confirmation of enrollment and attendance to attendance officers, social workers, and social workers), plus encouragement and support from real, experienced homeschoolers who really believe in the value of home education and the importance of family. |
